Entry 3 - Shaders...
I'm not a math whiz. Now, I'm no slouch when I've got my flash cards, but there are some things I've stayed away from in my game development journey.
Shaders are one of them.
Whether I liked it or not, that had to change today. I wanted my vision mechanic, dangit. It took 2-3 hours, but I ended up with... Something.
Now, am I happy with this?
Well, I'm proud of the result I managed to achieve, as it was hard work...
...but no, it's nothing like what I want.
Apparently, it can be done. In fact, Darkwood was made in Unity. But not without understanding Shaders a whole lot better than I do now.
So now I have implementations for Vision and for Pathfinding, and I'm not really happy with either of them, but they are functional. Game Jam logic tells me I should press on.
